Reference is the term for books that you can't take out of the library. Reference books are usually dictionaries, encyclopedias and directories.

For electronic reference collections, a more authoritative online source than Wikipedia, try using our subscription based electronic reference books.
To find print editions go to the library home page.
If you know the title of the book you are looking for, enter it into the Find It box and hit enter.
Under the Source type drop-down box, select Books.
This limits the search from an overwhelming 284,449 results to just 3.
Under the result you can see the Status (the collection it belongs to), Location and Call number.
If you need to search the Reference collection as a whole, click on My Library Account to go to the Classic UFV Library Catalogue.
Click New search.
Click Advanced search.
Enter your title, search terms or keywords. Select the library you want to search.
Under Type select Reference book.
Change the location to Reference Collection.
Hit search.
To find the actual book on the shelf, write down the call number. In this case, the call number is WM 15 D53 2022.
The reference collection in Abbotsford is located on the first floor, across from Study Rooms 6, 7 and 8.
In Chilliwack, the reference collection is to right of the library entrance. Find our library maps here.
