At this time, due to COVID-19, the UFV Library is not processing recalls (holds on items that are currently checked out to other users). So, if someone tries to place a hold on an item that is checked out, they will get this confusing error message: “Override required to place System-range hold error message.” (We are unable to make this message less confusing without causing confusion in other instances.) As we are currently not recalling items, the item will not be available and the hold cannot be processed. As we move toward normalizing our usual policies and procedures, recalls will again be possible.
